I wrote "Little Wars" while besieged by the noise of freaky domestic fight in the apartment below mine. The song, however, is not about a domestic fight, but more broadly about the notion that we willfully engage in pointless "Little Wars" in an attempt to shift our focus from more deeply situated pain...

There's a seed that's in a field, a minefield in your heart
And crows are always mining, and tearing things apart
Over the stars is a shroud, of rain laden clouds

And when thunder pounds it frightens, the feathered beaks of death
And the rain that falls a friend, to whatever strength was left
Like a flame is to a coal, it feeds your petrified soul

Then the sleeping child, that was stuck inside, believing every lie
Is suddenly grown, and you are one, fighter in the storm
